Frequently Asked Questions

Picture
What insurance do we take?

We participate with all major insurance carriers, including Medicare and Medicaid.

What is our referral policy?

We require a referral for all new patient visits.

Are there any age restrictions?

Our doctors will see patients ages 12 and older. Dr. Lane will also see people with diabetes ages 5 and older.

What is the missed appointment policy?

Our office has a 24-hour cancellation policy. If you cancel an appointment with less than 24 hours notice, you may be billed a $50 fee.

Why do doctors sometimes run behind schedule?

Our doctors do their very best to stay on schedule, and we are proud to offer 60 minute visits for new patients and 30 minute visits for follow-up visits, but sometimes that is not enough. Unfortunately, giving the best medical care is not always time sensitive. We sincerely apologize if we are late for your visit, but please know that it is so we can guarantee the best medical care to everyone who walks through our door. We understand that being delayed is frustrating, but if giving the best care takes longer than the 60 minutes or 30 minutes planned, then we will use as much time as we need to make sure everyone gets the care they need.

Will patients have to see the nurse practitioner?

Yes. In order for our doctors to provide care to as many people as possible and continue to accept new patients, established patients should expect to see our nurse practitioner for some follow-up visits. New patients will generally see one of our physicians for their first appointment. Once care is established with a physician, patients typically alternate follow-up visits with the physician and the nurse practitioner.

Can patients self-refer for research studies?

Absolutely! If you are not an established patient with one of our providers and you want to participate in a research study then call our office and speak to one of our clinical research coordinators. Our coordinators will be able to discuss our current studies and answer questions about how to become involved. Please also see our current studies page for more information.
